I had the great pleasure to judge the Manchester & Counties Bulldog Club’s Limit show.
“Thank you” to the committee for inviting me and also a big thank you to the exhibitors for giving me such a big entry, 79 dogs.

The overall quality was good but I found the bitches in general better than the dogs but in my winners I found what I was looking for – standard sized, compact and good moving dogs.
I had some straight toplines and quite a few straight back ends, jaws were good on most of the dogs and I was pleased with the movement.

I enjoyed my day, everyone in the committee took really good care of me and my excellent stewards made it run smoothly in the ring and easy for me.

DOG CLASSES

MINOR PUPPY DOG ( 4-1 abs.)

1st	Gailbulls Ringo He’s A Star BPD Brindle & white big Minor puppy dog, well over standard but very well balanced and proportioned to his size. Clear, dark well spaced eyes, big black nose, nice rose ears and lovely long flat skull. Excellent turn of true under jaw. Lovely tacked on shoulders, deep brisket, nice straight bone and excellent feet. Good reach of neck, lovely topline but a shade long. Nice big ribs and strong, well angulated back end. Moved and handled very well.
2nd	Golbourne It’s Taboo Red & white standard sized puppy. Clean cut in lovely condition. Lovely clear, dark eyes, big black nose, nice rose ears. Flat, long skull and good turn of true under jaw. Nice shoulders, brisket and lovely straight bone with nice tight feet. Nice topline and good strong back end. Nice deep body with nice ribs.Moved very well. Although 1^st is a bigger dog than 2^ndhe wins on his overall balance and substance.
3rd	Jaybelabee Armstrong

PUPPY DOG (6-2 abs.)

1st	Astonpride Lock’N’Load Red, standard sized dog. Pleasing head. Dark, clear eyes, big nose and good nostrils. Strong foreface. Nice turn and width of true under jaw. Nice straight front and deep brisket. Would like to see a bit bigger ribs and a he is a shade long in body but has a nice topline. Nice tail and enough angulation back. Moved very well.
2nd	Belushi Batista Red & white heavy dog. Strong head. Dark eyes, small, thin rose ears, flat skull. Big nose with open nostrils. Nice turn of wide true under jaw. Wide shoulders, feet could be a bit tighter. Nice length of back with correct topline and nice tail. Good spring of rib, nice back end and moved well. 1 wins on his firmer front and shoulders, and better feet.
3rd	Mickanjie Red Renegade

JUNIOR DOG (6-2 abs.)

1st	Astonpride Lock’N’Load See critique above.
2nd	Jaybelabee Lightning Red & white standard size dog, a bit tall on his legs. Lovely head and expression, strong foreface, long flat skull. Dark, clear eyes, well spaced. Big black nose. Lovely layback and nice turn of true under jaw. Good reach of neck, nice topline and good length of back. Lovely, correct tail and nice tailset. Good ribs could be a bit deeper in body. Enough angulation behind, free and easy movement. It was very close between 1^st and 2^nd,very similar in types, but 1^st won on correct length of leg which makes him more balanced.
3rd	Bradiebe Imallwhite

NOVICE DOG (5-4 abs.)

1st	Tykamyne Mitchell Red, big heavy dog. Lot of work in head. Long flat skull, small thin ears. Big black well placed nose, but nostrils could be more open. Nice wide, true under jaw with good turn up. Would prefer the front to be a bit straighter and with tighter feet. Nice big ribs, topline a bit straight. Free easy mover, enough angulation behind.

POST GRADUATE DOG (4-2 abs.)

1st	Jackarhys White Lightning at Golbourne White, quite big dog. Lot of work in head, nice long skull, good ears with good placement. Big black nose with open nostrils. Very upfaced. Nice wide, true under jaw with good turn. Eyes could be sounder. Could need a bit more fore chest, nice tacked on shoulders, straight front, feet needs to be tighter. Nice topline, good length of back, good ribs, correct tail. Enough angulation behind, movement ok.
2nd	Joybull the Guv’nor Red & white finer dog. Standard size but needs more substance all over. Pleasing head with long flat skull, nice thin ears and clear dark eyes. Big black nose. Nice straight front and lovely tight feet. Pleasing topline and correct length of back. Nice tail. Enough angulation behind, free mover.Lost to 1 on overall substance.
3rd

LIMIT DOG (5-3 abs.)

1st	Bulldane Red Dragon Red & white big dog. Strong, masculine head with long flat skull, nice ears and lovely, big, clear, dark eyes. Nice turn of under jaw and strong, wide foreface. Nice lay back. Nice square front with tacked on shoulders. Feet could be a bit tighter. A shade long in body but nice ribs. Lovely tail of the correct type. Free and easy mover, enough angulation behind.
2nd	Merrettbull Legend Lives On for Dawnstar White big dog with a lot of work in head. Nice strong foreface. Nice ears, big clear eyes but could be darker in colour. Big black nose, set high between the eyes. Lovely big bone, nice square front, feet could be a bit tighter. Enough angulation behind, movement ok. 1^st wins on movement and firmer condition.

OPEN DOG (5-2 abs.)

1st	Jacobella Bodiddley BD, BIS Red & white lovely standard sized and well balanced dog with lovely outline. Pleasing head with a long, flat skull, nice ears, dark clear eyes and strong, wide foreface. Big black nose, well placed. Nice turn of true under jaw. Lovely square front with nice feet. Correct length of leg. Walks his width. Good topline, short in body. Nice tail. Correct angulation behind, moved very well.
2nd	Bullmerina White Storm of Belushi RBD White, standard sized, well balanced dog with nice outline. Nice head with a long flat skull. Dark, well spaced eyes. Big black nose. Well pigmented. Strong foreface, nice turn of true under jaw. Nice square front and lovely shoulders. Correct topline and nice length of back. Well angulated backend. Moves well side and rear, paddles a bit in front.
3rd	Jumano Scrumpy Jack
BEST DOG & BEST IN SHOW. It was close between 1^st and 2^nd, but 1 won on his lovely head and expression and movement.

BITCH CLASSES

MINOR PUPPY BITCH (12-3 abs.)

1st	Bullisimo Sheeza Diamond Red & white compact, short, cobby bitch with lots of substance and plenty of bone. Standard size. Lovely head and expression, nice ears, clear, dark eyes. Big, black nose with open nostrils. Nice width and turn of true under jaw. Lovely square front with lovely tacked on shoulders, straight bone and tight feet. Nice length of back and correct topline ending in a lovely straight tail. Nice strong ribs. Well angulated behind and moves very well.
2nd	Spalfords Baileys Over Ice Fawn & white, standard size very feminine bitch. Pleasing head with lovely sour expression. Nice flat skull, nice ears and clear, dark eyes. Nose placement could be a bit better. Nice turn of true under jaw but it is a bit long. Nice square front, straight bone and lovely tight feet. A shade long in back, nice ribs and topline. Well angulated behind and moved very well. 2 different types, both very nice. 1^st wins on her overall substance and proportions but I like the feminine look of the 2^nd.
3rd	Jackobella Red Spirit

PUPPY BITCH (5-2 abs.)

1st	Mickanjie Magic RBB, BPB, BPIS Red & white bitch on the bigger side. Quality bitch. Pleasing head with broad, flat skull, nice small ears, clear, dark eyes and a big black nose. Very good turn of true under jaw. Lovely layback. Lovely square front with nice shoulders, straight bone with lovely feet. Nice fore chest and deep brisket. Short back with correct topline. Nice big ribs. Nice tail and tailset. Strong well angulated back end. Free and easy movement. Walks her width.
2nd	Mickanjie Vivi Valantine Red & white bitch, litter sister to first. Quality bitch. Pleasing head with broad, flat skull, nice small ears. Lovely clear, round, dark eyes. Big, black nose, nice turn of true under jaw. A bit tighter in front than 1^st but straight bone and lovely tight feet. Nice fore chest. Short back with correct topline. Nice big ribs. Enough angulation behind. Moves free and easy. 1st wins on a better front and angulation behind but both are of an excellent type.
3rd	Golbourne Miss Dior

JUNIOR BITCH (8-2 abs.)

1st	Bullisimo Beaujolais BB, RBIS, BOS Red brindle & white, standard size, cobby, lovely well balanced bitch with lots of substance and well boned. Pleasing head with flat skull, nice thin ears, lovely dark eyes and big black nose. Good turn of true under jaw. Lovely square front with wide shoulders, deep brisket, straight bones and excellent feet. Short in back with correct topline. Lovely big ribs. Nice tail. Well angulated and moves very well.
2nd	Jaybelabee Blackbird Meisha Red & white standard size. Clean cut, well balanced very feminine bitch. Pleasing head in all details. Clear, dark eyes. Nice turn of true under jaw. Nice square front with nice shoulders, deep brisket, straight bone and very nice tight feet. Short in back with correct topline. Big, strong ribs. Tail is better than on 1^st. Enough angulation behind. Moved and handled very well. Both lovely types, but 2 is a bit taller on legs than 1^st who also has so much substance and good proportions.
3rd	Poetscorner Nelliphant

NOVICE BITCH (6-1 abs.)

1st	Mystyle Treacle Brindle & white bigger bitch. Pleasing head with long, flat skull, thin ears and big nose. Nostrils could be a bit better. Nice turn of true under jaw. Nice square front with good, strong shoulders, straight bone and excellent feet. Nice topline but a shade long. Big ribs and deep in body. Correct tail. Well angulated behind and moved free and easy.
2nd	Gailbulls Boarder Rose Brindle & white a bit finer bitch. More up on her legs than 1^st. Pleasing head with flat, long skull, dark eyes and very nice turn of true under jaw. Ears needs to settle. A bit tight in front but lovely straight bone and excellent feet. Nice topline with nice tail. Good ribs. Enough angulated front and rear, moved free and easy. As 1 has a bit more substance and better angulation, she wins.
3rd	Dawnstar Renegade

POST GRADUATE BITCH (6-0 abs.)

1st	Belgicshako Brindle Lady Bridle & white big bitch with lots of substance and heavy bone. Strong head with broad skull, nice ears and dark, clear eyes. Big nose, nostrils could be a bit better. Nice turn of true under jaw. Nice, square, straight front with very nice feet. Good, wide, tacked on shoulders. Short in back with correct topline. Big, strong ribs. Nice tail. Nice movement but moves a bit wide behind. Well angulated.
2nd	Bullisimo Cotton Candy Brindle & white bitch of standard size. Head with a lot of work, nice ears, big black nose with open nostrils and nice turn of true under jaw. Eyes could be sounder. Nice square front, straight bone and lovely feet. Good reach of neck. Short in back, nice topline, good angulations and nice tail. Big ribs. Moves better than 1^st but she doesn’t win because of the eyes.
3rd	Brontemay Miz Scarlet

LIMIT BITCH (7-1 abs.)

1st	Belushi Lady Angelina Red & white bitch of standard size. Pleasing head with long, flat skull, nice ears and clear dark eyes. Big, black nose, well placed, nostrils could be a bit better. Nice turn of true, wide under jaw. Lovely lay back. Wide, strong shoulders. Straight bone, deep brisket and nice fore chest. Nice feet. Short in back, nice topline, deep body. Big, well rounded ribs. Lacks tail. Well musculated back end and moves well side on and behind but a bit close in front.
2nd	Spalfords Polar Bear White standard sized bitch in lovely condition and with excellent pigmentation. Pleasing head, nice ears and clear dark eyes. Big, black well placed nose, nostrils could be a bit better. Nice turn of under jaw. Nice square front with lovely shoulders and straight bone. Deep brisket and good fore chest. Feet needs to tighten up a bit. A bit longer in back that 1^st but nice topline. Deep body and well rounded ribs. Short tail. Well angulated behind moved very well. Lost to 1 on longer body and jaw is better on 1^st.
3rd	Belgicshako Brindle Lady

OPEN BITCH (8-0 abs.)

1st	Avapal Abracadabra Red & white, big bitch. Lovely red colour. Pleasing head with long, flat skull, nice ears, clear, dark eyes and big black well placed nose. Nice turn of true under jaw. Nice square front with straight bone, wide tacked on shoulders, deep brisket and good fore chest. Lovely feet. She is in lovely condition. Maybe a shade long in body but with a nice topline and a deep body and well rounded ribs. Well angulated behind. Short tail. Moved well.
2nd	Jacobella Red October Red & white standard sized bitch. Very much in the same mould as her litter brother who I gave Best Dog. Pleasing head in all details. Nice square front with wide shoulders and nice straight bone. Feet needs to tighten up a bit. Needs more brisket. Shorter in body than 1, nice topline and deep body with well rounded ribs. Well angulated and strong back end. Moves free and easy. 1 wins on her better front and feet and her lovely condition.
